catapultFeatured, Updates

In December of 2015, Kyle Eichelberger was promoted to Department Manager of Feed & Livestock at the Rural King in Greenville. Kyle participated in summer youth and other employment training through Bridges to Transition, a program through the Darke County Board of Developmental Disabilities. Kyle began his career at Rural King as a part time loader in January of 2015. In a few short months he was offered a full time position because of his reliability, positive attitude, and great customer service. These qualities have made him a valuable member of the Rural King team. Rhonda Douglas, Assistant Manager who selected Kyle for the Department Manager position, describes Kyle as a “very hard worker, dependable, polite and a great person.” Rhonda and Kris Hurd, HR Manager, both shared that Kyle has shown “integrity” and “initiative” throughout his employment at Rural King. Department Managers at Rural King are responsible for inventory maintenance, merchandising, pricing, stocking, and customer service. Rhonda shared that Kyle is learning many of his new responsibilities quickly. Rural King and Kyle believe he is up to the challenge.

The goal of Bridges to Transition is to expand career exploration and employment options for transitional youth (ages 14 – 24) with developmental disabilities. Anyone interested in learning more about partnering with the Darke County Board of DD for employment opportunities and/or Bridges to Transition can contact Rodney Willis, Community First Director at 937-459-4626 or rodneyw@darkedd.org.
